Optimis Everton Menangkan Tiga Laga Terakhir di Goodison Park

Everton midfielder Iliman Ndiaye is hopeful that his team can win the last three home matches in the English Premier League at Goodison Park this season, as the Merseyside club will be moving to Everton Stadium in the Bramley-Moore dock area, Liverpool, starting next season. After helping Everton secure a point through a penalty kick to draw with the away team Arsenal 1-1 in the 31st week of the Premier League at Goodison Park on Saturday, Ndiaye expressed his desire for the team. “Every time we play here, there are fewer chances to play here. We want to give everything for the supporters who are always here witnessing everything,” he said after the match. “We want to deliver the best performance and hopefully we can achieve three wins in the last three (home) matches,” added Ndiaye.

After drawing with Arsenal, Everton only has three home matches left this season, against Manchester City on April 19, Ipswich Town on May 3, and Southampton on May 18. This season, Everton has a record of four wins, eight draws, and four losses in home matches in the Premier League, including a 2-2 draw against Liverpool on February 13, which saw The Toffees’ supporters pouring down from the Goodison Park stands. Their record at Goodison Park is slightly better than their away record in the Premier League, with only three wins, six draws, and six losses.

Facing Arsenal this time, Everton initially fell behind due to a goal by Leandro Trossard in the first half, but one minute after half-time, Arsenal’s young talent, Myles Lewis-Skelly, made a mistake by fouling Jack Harrison in the penalty area. The penalty given by referee Darren England sparked controversy, but it did not disrupt Ndiaye’s concentration as he stepped up to deceive goalkeeper David Raya and equalize the score to 1-1, which stood until the final whistle. The goal was a sweet moment for Ndiaye, who made his first start after seven weeks out due to a knee injury.

“It’s amazing (to be back and score). I wanted to give it to Beto, but I was confident enough to take it, so I’m happy to be back,” said Ndiaye. “I think it’s a good point. We lost in the midweek and needed to change the momentum today with a good result, and I think we got it,” he added. Ndiaye admitted that manager David Moyes gave some instructions in the dressing room at half-time, which the Everton players successfully implemented to secure a crucial point against Arsenal. The draw with Arsenal lifted Everton to 14th place in the temporary standings with 35 points. Everton is scheduled to visit Nottingham Forest’s base next Saturday.
